“[T]he Son of God came so we could recognize and understand the truth of God—what a gift!—and we are living in the Truth itself, in God’s Son, Jesus Christ. This Jesus is both True God and Real Life.” 1 John 5:20 (MSG)
When we go on mission for God, like Jesus, we “teach the way of God in accordance with the truth” (Luke 20:21 NIV). We report that Truth is a person and that God is love.
We report what we’ve seen and what we’ve heard, what God has done and what he does, what he’ll do in our lives and what he’s done in the lives of others (Matthew 11:4–5).
We tell them of a love so powerful it defeats all fear, all hatred, all injustice, and all sin. We tell them of a love that lasts forever and ever, that is never-ending.
We tell others that Jesus is the Truth and that he is the only way to life with the Father (John 14:6). We tell them “that the Son of God came so we could recognize and understand the truth of God—what a gift!—and we are living in the Truth itself, in God’s Son, Jesus Christ. This Jesus is both True God and Real Life” (1 John 5:20 MSG).
